Million Memory Project

Community stories, told collectively.

Million Memory Project helps communities, organizations, and local groups gather photographs, memories, captions, interviews, and lived experiences into professionally published books that preserve a shared moment in time.

Why many voices

Some stories belong to an entire community.

A disaster, an anniversary, a recovery, or a local tradition is too big for one author. Million Memory Project gives communities a way to gather many perspectives and turn them into one book.

Collective memory becomes something a community can hold.

Story

Community members contribute memories, captions, interviews, photographs, and lived experience. We record and transcribe the interviews, and bring every contribution together in one place.

Book

The material is shaped into a professionally published book with structure, design, and editorial care. Many voices become one book, and copies can be sold to support the community’s own work.

Archive

The book and its source materials are kept long after the moment has passed. Recordings, transcripts, and photographs stay together for families, researchers, and future readers.

Visual storytelling

Designed around people, place, and memory.

Million Memory Project

Every story starts with a conversation.

Tell us about the event, tradition, or change your community wants to record, and we’ll help you turn it into a book.
